LAKEWOOD, Colo. – It was business as usual for Lakewood Mayor Bob Murphy and council members as they met on Sept 8 at 7 p.m.. The meeting was short and the council members addressed the events of what happened over the weekend.

Murphy opened by welcoming the general public who attended the meeting and thanked Belmar for hosting the annual Festival Italiano with record numbers this year. “This just goes to show Belmar is growing, and I hope it keeps growing.” Murphy said.

The council proceeds to address and vote for enabling ordinances within the city. The first ordinance was for an underground gas line that will be placed in Bear Creek Lake Park, which passed unanimously by the council members and proceeds to vote for the next ordinance.

The second ordinance that was voted on was for waterline facilities to connect to Green Mountain Water and Sanitation. This also passed unanimously by council members and they proceed to speak about upcoming events they want people to support and attend. Some of these events include a 5K race to support the athletics department at Lakewood High School.

The Mayor ended the council meeting at 7:14 p.m. when there was no more things to be addressed and thank everyone for attending the council meeting and will be meeting again the same time next Monday.

    This was a really informative article, I like how you touched base on all the issues that were presented in the council meeting. I love Bear Creek Lake park and was especially intrigued by the placement of a gas line there. Great article 🙂
