Denver- According to a report from CNN, Starbucks plans to make some dreams come true. Starbucks has announced that it plans to provide a coffee and food delivery system. Yes you can get your favorite Starbucks drink delivered to your home.

Speaking exclusively to CNN, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz providing some insight to the system.  “Imagine the ability to create a standing order of Starbucks delivered hot or cold to your desk,” says Schultz. “That is our version of e-commerce on steroids.”

This plan is a part of the new mobile app and pay app. However, the delivery service will only be offer to loyalty program members. The company doesn’t have details yet on how the delivery option would work. Questions it must answer are where it would be available and what kind of service fee will apply.

Bob Goldin, an executive vice president at Technomic, the restaurant industry consulting firm, told USA Today that he has concerns. “Nothing surprises me, but running up with a muffin and Frappuccino for 7 dollars doesn’t seem like it could work economically,” says Goldin. Goldin suggests that the order would have to range from $15 to $25 and it would only have to just be for office delivery. Starbucks plans to launch the service nationwide next year.

My thoughts are exactly what Goldin thinks. If I was a loyal consumer I’d probably order a drink but it’s still expensive, regardless. Also, if I want a muffin I can go to King Soopers or somewhere else to get one. I also think that this is a plan to make the coffee industry more of a money maker because, sooner or the later, other coffee shops will do the same. More importantly, this can be a play for Starbucks, business wise, or because they have over stepped their market and need to make more money. Who knows!
