PARKER, Colo. – As Coloradans experience the first 90-degree temperatures of 2017, the Parker Days Festival heats things up with wholesome family-friendly entertainment. Whether riding a bull (of the mechanical variety) or riding a Ferris wheel suits your fancy, there’s a little something for everyone at Parker Days.

The three-and-a-half-day long event features three music stages, carnival rides, bounce houses, a petting zoo, car show, street performers, parades and much more. And if the sun isn’t bright enough for you to work on that tan, there’s plenty of fried food to satisfy anyone in search of an alternate form of golden brown. Vendors offer a variety of fried foods like cupcakes, Twinkies, Oreos, funnel cakes, onion rings and of course, turkey legs.

When you need a respite from the scorching heat, or maybe even a break from the tykes, there’s plenty of cold adult brews as well as fun water related activities suitable for adults and children alike.

Area resident Charlie Ashley enjoys the variety as well as the attention to detail that goes into planning for the annual event, “Parker does a great festival, small touches add up.”

The festival typically draws about 200,000 people to Mainstreet every year making it one of the largest of its kind in Colorado.

“There was a research firm on-site this year and we will use some of their demographic information [to] get some of our data,” said Sara Crowe, the director of Special Projects for the Parker Chamber of Commerce. This data is used to help improve the attendee and vendor experience for the next year, a method that event organizers have employed for the past two years with great success.

So, whether you’re looking for sizzle, a splash, or want to throw a few back, the Parker Days Festival is where all of the action is at!
